Babba-Adam Bayero, Consultant at QUANTEAM
Skills-based pro bono project for the âJOBIRLâ association
How and why did you choose this first assignment with âForum Ăducation France Cultureâ?
This assignment was a perfect fit for me. This isnât the first time Iâve worked with young people: Iâve previously provided academic support and training in a more informal setting. I enjoy teaching and mentoring others, so when this opportunity came up, it was a no-brainer for me when choosing my assignment!
Can you tell us more about the project and your role in this assignment?
I serve as a mentor with the âJOBIRLâ organization. My role is to support young people in their career journeys: helping them refine their rĂ©sumĂ©s, preparing them for interviews, assisting them in developing their career plans, and building their self-confidence. The organization pairs mentors with young people aged 18 and older. First, there is an initial meeting between the association and the mentee to define the scope of the six-month mentorship.
On a more personal level, what has this assignment meant to you?
This experience has been very rewarding on a personal level, particularly in terms of communication and social skills. It has helped me develop the ability to truly listen and adapt to each personâs needs and background. Beyond the personal satisfaction of being able to help, I believe these skills will be useful in my day-to-day work.
How was the support provided by the Rainbow CARE and Day One teams?
Great. The process was handled through the Day One platform, which is clear, easy to use, and comprehensive. We received genuine support from both the HR teams and Day One, which was reassuring and helpful in choosing the assignment that best aligned with our goals and commitments.
Would you recommend this type of volunteer assignment to other employees at RAINBOW PARTNERS?
Yes, of course. The volunteer opportunities offered through the Rainbow CARE solidarity program are very diverse and span many fields, allowing everyone to find an opportunity that matches their interests and skills. Itâs also an excellent opportunity to develop new skills, both personal and professional.
