Philippe BARBOZA, Consultant in the Transformation & Organization Practice â QUANTEAM
Providing pro bono consulting services for the âProtection Civile du RhĂŽneâ association
How and why did you choose this mission?
I received two offers through the Day One platform and the HR team in charge of âRainbow Care,â and I chose this one because it aligned with my personal interests and my skills in outreach. Iâm very interested in issues related to civic engagement and emergency response in France. This was a concrete opportunity to contribute to a public service cause while strengthening my interpersonal and sales skills.
Can you tell us more about the project and your role in this assignment?
My assignment was to help the âRhĂŽne Civil Protectionâ identify potential partners and sponsors. I conducted research, evaluated candidates, and reached out to companies based in the Auvergne-RhĂŽne-Alpes region. This involved emails, contact forms, and phone calls. I worked primarily independently, after a few initial briefings with the associationâs team, particularly Dimitri Froissard, their manager.
What has this assignment meant to you, both professionally and personally?
This assignment allowed me to gain a better understanding of how a relief organization operates, its needs, its funding sources, and its visibility challenges. I also strengthened my ability to tailor my messages to different types of audiences and to structure my outreach approaches. Starting from a blank slate to develop a partnership strategy taught me a great deal. Even though the short-term impact remains limited, I was able to lay the groundwork for a sustainable initiative for a cause that was close to my heart.
How was the support provided by the Rainbow Care and DayOne teams?
The support provided was consistent and high-quality. The Day One team remained available throughout the project, as did the HR team. The remote format really allowed me to organize my work with flexibility and autonomy, which is a real advantage in this type of project.
Would you recommend that other colleagues in the group take on an assignment as well?
Yes, I highly recommend this kind of experience. Itâs an excellent opportunity to put your skills to good use, expand your network, and develop soft skills in a setting thatâs different from our usual assignments. It also allows you to step back and work on very concrete challenges, which are sometimes far removed from our daily lives as consultants.
