Since 2023, Ahmed has been a consultant on the market finance teams at Quanteam. At the same time, he decided to get involved in several community service projects through the Rainbow CARE program, in collaboration with Day One, supporting two organizations dedicated to helping young people. Between robotics, teaching children, and nonprofit communication, he reflects on experiences that are useful, educational, and deeply rewarding on a personal level.

Ahmed Haoudi, Consultant at QUANTEAM
Skills-based pro bono assignment for the associations “FORUM EDUCATION FRANCE CULTURE” and “FJT SAINTE CONSTANCE”

How and why did you choose this first assignment with “Forum Éducation France Culture”?

While browsing the Day One platform for the Rainbow CARE internal program, I saw that the nonprofit “Forum Éducation France Culture” was offering an opportunity to program LEGO robots for children as part of a competition. I’ve always loved anything related to robotics, and the chance to help an organization that supports children really appealed to me right away.

Can you tell us more about the project and your role in this assignment?

The workshop leaders were already there. For my part, I mainly helped them organize the days: setting up the room, handing out LEGO sets, managing the teams, and assisting the children. The workshop leaders explained the methods and the program, and I was there to keep things running smoothly and ensure the workshops went off without a hitch.

On a more personal level, what has this assignment meant to you?

Above all, I learned a great deal by guiding the children through their thinking process. I helped them ask the right questions, understand the objective, break it down into simple tasks, measure distances, and enter commands correctly on the computer. It was a great learning experience to have to make these concepts accessible and concrete.

There was also a more hands-on aspect to building the robots: helping the children choose the right parts, solving technical problems, and encouraging them to test things out for themselves. This experience taught me how to communicate effectively and adapt my approach to each child.

What technical or soft skills have you developed the most?

The skills I drew upon were ones I had already acquired during my previous assignments. It wasn’t a matter of developing new expertise, but rather of putting my know-how to use in a nonprofit setting.

How was the support provided by the Rainbow CARE and Day One teams?

The support process went very smoothly from the start. Everything was well organized, which built confidence and made me want to give my all to every assignment.

You then went on to take on a second assignment with the “FJT Sainte Constance” association. Can you tell us about it?

Yes, that first experience made me want to take things further and take on a new project. While browsing the internal platform, I discovered the organization “FJT Sainte Constance,” a residence for young workers that wanted to showcase its social initiatives on a screen in the lobby. They shared their requirements with me, along with the technical specifications, so I could design a panoramic presentation using software (Neoscreen), intended to serve as a true communication tool. Even though I already had some basic knowledge, I had to learn more. It was a real challenge, but the feedback was very positive.

Would you recommend this type of volunteer assignment to other employees at RAINBOW PARTNERS?

Yes, without a doubt, and I’ve already done it at Quanteam! These are incredibly enriching experiences on a personal level, allowing you to develop new skills, challenge yourself, and—most importantly—give meaning to what you do, beyond our usual assignments in the world of finance. It’s rewarding! I’m very happy that the group’s social engagement program, Rainbow CARE, has been able to provide me with all of that.
