MODELING OF CREDIT GRANTING AND REORGANIZATION OF THE CONTROL SYSTEM
Background & Challenges
Project Management Role: Process & Coordination within the Risk & Permanent Control (RPC) Division in the “Credit Administration & Monitoring (RPC-CMR), responsible for, on the one hand, the administration and control of counterparty risks generated by the Bank’s activities, particularly credit decisions; on the other hand, the quality of the processing and data used in counterparty risk systems; and finally, the reporting (internal and/or regulatory) of this data.
The role involved managing projects initiated by RPC, overseeing change management, managing the impact of projects affecting RPC team processes, assisting line management with optimization initiatives, coordinating with local CMRs (worldwide), and contributing to tasks related to the evolution of the control framework within the context of ongoing internal projects and/or regulatory requirements. There was also an expectation to participate in Project and/or Steering Committees regarding credit decision management tools and third-party data sources, market/financing counterparty risk controls, as well as a need to contribute to updating guidelines, internal procedures and operating procedures, policies, and processes.
Solution
The proposed measures and actions taken were as follows:
- Modeling Credit Granting Using RPC
- Validation of the approach to the internal reorganization of RPC, CMR, and ALC
- Launch of several initiatives as part of the Cost Cutting program: conducting a study on the optimization of existing processes
- Appointment to the role of RPC CMR EMEA Coordinator: coordination with local CMRs (worldwide)
Benefits for the customer:
Streamlining operations, eliminating redundant steps, shortening payment cycles, developing more sophisticated and accurate valuation models, and reducing risks.
