IMPLEMENTATION OF AN END-TO-END CASH MANAGEMENT SOLUTION
Background & Challenges
The launch of a new commercial offering designed to meet the needs of corporate clients (handling of outstanding SDD payments) has significant implications in terms of counterparty risk, processing costs, monitoring of accounting processes, and the accuracy of reporting. In this context, the product marketing team sought support from the Finance and Accounting Department to manage the accounting aspects of the project
The challenges of the project were as follows:
- Development from scratch of a cash management solution for tracking SDD delinquencies on behalf of major corporations (bulk direct debits and time-consuming tracking of delinquencies)
- Legal and operational review of the proposal
- End-to-end validation of the accounting chain
- Validation of an architectural solution aligned with the current roadmap
- Impact Analysis
- Analysis of discrepancies with accounting entries related to SEPA payments
Solution
Our methodological approach was based on collaboration with:
- Marketing teams involved in product definition,
- Regulatory and legal requirements regarding counterparty and credit risks,
- IT Paris for data definition and the development of event reports
- And Portuguese for the interpretation section using the Elementary Movements
Our expertise in SEPA SDD payment methods and project management, combined with our understanding of the client’s ecosystem and processes, enabled us to deliver a fully operational project
The proposed measures and actions taken were as follows:
- Establishment of governance structures, budgets, resources, and schedules
- Participation in governance (co-leadership, co-management, etc.)
- Definition of the initial business requirement and feasibility study
- Validation of Requirements (primarily through workshops)
- Formulation of functional and technical specifications
- Formalization of the acceptance testing phase (strategy, use cases, IST, IAT, UAT, test reports)
- Formalization of the deployment strategy (access, schedule, launch protocol, post-launch rollback, etc.)
- Standardization and centralization of project documentation
- Presentation of the summary of the work to top management.
